The Central Illinois High School Cyber Defense Competition is an opportunity for schools in and around Central Illinois to compete against each other in cyber defense. Teams participating compete on their ability to defend their computers and networks against hacking attacks from a "red team" consisting of information security professionals. Teams are scored on their ability to keep critical programs and services running and their ability to deal with attacks.
We are inviting high schools in the Central Illinois (within approximately 200 miles of Bloomington-Normal) area. to participate in the competition. Teams from high schools should consist of four to eight students. These students will configure and defend their network and computers from attack.
If you are interested in this opportunity for fun and learning, please contact the competition team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The competition will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Illinois State University's School of Information Technology.
